Senior Structural Revit Technician
We are working with a leading structural engineering practise based in Glasgow, who are seeking a Senior Structural Revit Technician to join their growing team. This is a superb opportunity to take a pivotal role in high-profile projects across commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors, contributing technical expertise and helping shape delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the production, development and coordination of Revit models and structural drawings, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards and constructability.
- Collaborate closely with Structural Engineers, Architects, BIM / Design Coordinators and other disciplines to resolve modelling, clash detection, and coordination issues.
- Review and check Revit / BIM output for quality assurance, clash resolution, and adherence to company standards.
- Mentor and support junior Revit / CAD / Technician staff; contribute to improving internal workflows, best practices and Revit standards.
- Assist with detailing, schedules, annotation, and preparation of deliverables for tender, planning, construction and fabrication.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits as required, and liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure model information is accurate and up-to-date.
Key Requirements
- Substantial experience working as a Revit Technician (structural discipline) in a consultancy or contractor environment, preferably in the UK.
- Strong skills in Autodesk Revit (structure), including modelling, families, view templates, worksharing, etc.
- Good understanding of structural design principles (steel, concrete, timber) and how they translate into buildable Revit models.
- Experience with clash detection tools (e.g. Navisworks, Solibri or similar) and coordination with other disciplines.
- Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills; ability to interpret structural calculations and engineer’s input and translate into precise model/drawing outputs.
- Organised, self-motivated, with strong attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills; ability to liaise across teams, present technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
