How to Answer Common Interview Questions

Interviews can be nerve wracking, but preparation is key to showing yourself in your best light, and impressing your prospective employer!

Follow our handy guide to answering common interview questions.

Tell me about yourself?

Don't get caught up telling your life story, the real question is "what can you bring to the company?" Research the company you are interviewing at and focus on your recent career experience and work history to find common ground.

What would you say is your biggest weakness?

Don't focus too much on the negative side of the question, instead spin it into a positive that will benefit the employer. E.g If you aren't the best at a particular program or skill, show how you are taking steps to improve this.

Why would you be great for this company?

This isn't hard to answer. You already know what they are looking for from their advert, so use this in your answer. It's also a good idea to look back at what you have written in your own CV as they will most likely be looking at this for reference.

Do you have any questions for us?

You don't want to fall at the last hurdle. Always come prepared with questions (we recomend 2 or 3), but don't ask about pay or holidays.
